Description:
I am receiving the following error every 1 hour in the event log.

"Event Type:	Error
Event Source:	MySQL
Event Category:	None
Event ID:	100
Date: 1/24/2005
Time: 8:05:03 AM
User: N/A
Computer:	*SERVERNAME*
Description:
Error reading packet from server: Lost connection to MySQL server during query (server_errno=2013)

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://www.mysql.com.
"

This error is filling up out event logs. Replication is key but we are unable to easily filter the event logs for important events with the mass of errors that are currently in the logs due to MYSQL.

Thanks!
Jesse Tutt

How to repeat:
This error is recurring every 1 hour.

Hi!
We need more info. Could you please attach mysql error log? It must be in data directory, the file with .err extension.

With some 30 PHP/Apache boxes connecting to a unix MySQL server I see large numbers of these in the master error log file. I filter them out with grep before attempting to do any serious analysis of the error log file. That filtering makes this only an inconvenience on unix.

For web sites with many connections and many normal and routine connection errors this is an error message which it would be good to be able to disable or rate limit.

Ask if you'd like a sample .err.bz2 file to examine to find the messages most in need of filtering.

I am seeing this error too. Any ideas what's going on?
