Description:
I am trying to install mysql on OS X El Capitan. I believe I need to use the version for OS X 10.10 (not 10.9 since Apple changed some things regarding installation scripts in that interval).

So I downloaded the DMG for 5.7.1 for OS X 10.10. When I opened it, it contains the PKG for 10.9 (not 10.10).

This does not install on El Capitan; it silently fails. No server, no prefpane installed, etc.

Can you please post a new DMG for 5.7.1 for OS 10.10 that includes the 10.10 PKG file?

Thanks

How to repeat:
Download the DMG for 5.7.1 for OS X 10.10. When you open it, it contains the PKG for 10.9 (not 10.10).

Suggested fix:
Update the DMG file with the latest PKG file

I agree that this is a duplicate but disagree on the severity of the other ticket; we need to have a mechanism to install the PrefPane on new OSX installations for OSX 10.11 and the tarballs, etc, do not seem to have that. Only the .DMG seems to have this, so it is critical to our application to get a working DMG.
