Description:
Receive protocol mismatch when trying to connect. Uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, tried multiple protocols and still receive same error message every time.
I teach graduate level computer science courses and 70 out of 70 of my students received the same error. Students were running all different versions of Windows so it cannot be isolated to a single version of Windows or any single Windows update.
Had the students install 6.3.4 and all 70 students connected first time.

How to repeat:
Just start Workbench in Windows and try to connect to the server. Error occurs each and every time.

Thank you for the bug report. Which kind of connection are you using?. Thanks.

I am using a dedicated IP connection but my students have all different types of connections and receive the same error.

Thank you for the feedback. Are you able to connect with the mysql.exe client? are you using SSL?. thanks.

I can connect with mysql.exe with no issue. Workbench is the only issue. I have tried SSL and without SSL and the exact error occurs.
