Description:
----[For better reports, please attach the log file after submitting. You can find it in C:\Users\Anthony\AppData\Roaming\MySQL\Workbench\log\wb.log]

When connecting to a remote MySQL5.0 database hosted by goDaddy, using MySQL Workbench 6.3, on a Windows 8.1 machine, application fails, with error application stopped working.

Test connection states that MySQL Workbench does not support version 5.0.

If using MySQL Connections screen, error terminates gracefully. If connecting via Database dropdown, then Connect to Database, the error causes abrupt termination, as no test connection dialogue is available.

Error state should not cause application failure resulting in denial of service condition.

How to repeat:
Connect to MySQL 5.0.96 database with MySQLWorkbench v6.3, through the Connect to Database dialogue in the Database dropdown.

Suggested fix:
Create test connection dialogue prior to direct connection in the Database> Connect to Database dialogue.
