MySQL Verification Team
Thank you for the feature request.

Description: Currently the workbench allows you to open a console connection for use with mysql utilities. However, when doing so, you must re-enter the query you've provided again at the console level. This request is for the ability to have it not only open the console but run the currently selected queries (akin to the current {cmd, ctrl} + enter / {cmd, ctrl} + shift + enter shortcuts). This is handy for queries that execute bulk data operations that often cause the workbench to crash or freeze for long periods of time. It would allow the operator to use the workbench for operations and quickly switch to a "background thread" type option for longer running queries/operations that may have different memory constraints. How to repeat: Using the workbench, a new option would be available (preferably with shortcut) to "Execute (all or selection) in console" and "Execute (all or selection) in console".
