Description:
On Win 7 Pro 64-bit, http://cdn.mysql.com/Downloads/MySQLInstaller/mysql-installer-community-5.7.8.0-rc.msi runs, but leaves 5.7.7 in place. Run again, it reports there is no update available.

The dialog says to press the catalog button if that info seems wrong. That dialog says my catalog was last updated 12 Mar 2015.

As noted in a previous bug report of mine, the nightly update query has been crashing. This is the installation that is supposed to fix that bug. In any case, none of the catalog update buttons is active.

Note: the catalog dialog opens with an unprofessional, indeed grade-school-level, grammatical error: "MySQL Installer will automatically update it's product catalog nightly."

How to repeat:
As above

Just before seeing your email, I uninstalled MySQL installer then ran mysql-installer-community-5.7.8.0-rc.msi again. This time it saw that 5.7.7 needed to be upgraded to 5.7.8, and did so with no reported errors.

So the fix, apparently, is to uninstall the installer then run the msi.
