How to repeat:
install mysql 5.7.8-rc on centos 6.6 (using chef)
download ranger 0.4.0 (http://ranger.incubator.apache.org/)
untar and run ranger ./setup.sh

Thank you for this bug report.  To diagnose this problem, it would be very helpful to see the full stack trace and/or the associated MySQL Server error log.  Are you able to provide either?
