Description:
Yet another way in which NDB startup failed in testing the 4.1.9 release build - for others, see bug#7477 and bug#7765.

This symptom happened only on OSF 5.1 ('barney' = 64 bit), other platforms differed.

How to repeat:
Build and test on barney.

we've never managed to get barney to work with ndb
