Description:
campos tipo varchar notnull aceitam valor vazios, aparentemente está considerando vazio como caractere. acredito ser correto camps notnull não aceitarem valores vazios. em teste com aplicações swing no java o banco aceita cadastrar e em teste com MySQL Workbench  tambem aceita.

How to repeat:
Abrir workbench, criar uma tabela com valor notnull e ao fazer a inserção,
não deixar o campo null, mas sim vazio por exemplo "".

Suggested fix:
obrigar campos notnull a terem pelo menos 1 caractere.
