Description:
----[For better reports, please attach the log file after submitting. You can find it in C:\Users\Dean\AppData\Roaming\MySQL\Workbench\log\wb.log]

When writing code in the Query window, I sometimes like to cut-and-paste from another editor, or paste snippets from other sources. When the code is copied or cut to the clipboard (Windows 7 and Windows 8.1--have this problem on two machines), I can paste it to the Query window. After that, I cannot do any more pastes of any other new clipboard contents--it seems to lock up--pastes nothing. The info is in the clipboard--I can dump the clipboard to other editors, so I know the clipboard is working OK.

In order to get the Workbench working properly, I have to reboot the PC. Then, again I can only paste one time from an external source, and cannot paste any thing else to the Query window.

Can you please tell me what the problem may be--or is this a bug that needs to be fixed?

Thank you.

How to repeat:
Open a Query Window.

Cut a snippet of SQL query from an external source, e.g. Notepad++.

Paste the snippet into the Query window. It will paste OK.

Then move down a couple of lines and copy a snippet from an external source.

Try pasting this snippet into the Query window. It will not paste. I have tried both (CTRL-V) and PASTE from the dropdown menu--neither will work. I have verified that the contents are in the clipboard, because I can paste the contents into other apps--e.g., Word, Notepad, etc.

Thank you for the bug report. I couldn't repeat on 3 machines running Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 so assuming a particular issue on your environment.

Any idea as to what my be in my environment that may cause this issue. Any specific setting in Workbench that may cause this "pasting" issue? As mentioned earlier, I am experiencing this on my 2 machines--Win 7 Pro desktop, and Win 8.1 Laptop. The MySQL installations are standalone installtions, independent of one another. Since they are separate machines, I am thinking it must be something in common with the installation of MySQL--perhaps some setting I am not aware of, or overlooked.

Thank you very much for any ideas you may have.

I have been doing a lot of experimentation to try to isolate this problem, and have discovered that the problem occurs when I have a browser open (Chrome, Firefox, and/or Internet Explorer). If I shut the browser down, then I can "paste" and/or CTRL+V again. Open the browser, the "paste" and/or CTRL+V will not paste anything. This is only in Workbench, the browsers have no effect "pasting" to other apps. I know this is weird--I do not know how an internet browser and affect pasting into Workbench. So, I must leave it to the experts. Can you please shed any light on this weird happening? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
