I had the same issue, which the installer hanging at halfway through. There were multiple instances of the installation process in task mananger, killing one allowed the UAC prompt/admin log in window to pop up to continue installing on Windows 10.

same thing is still happening... I am trying to go from 5.7 with some v8 things did in the 8.1.13 installer to v8.1.15. trying 2 dozen variants of install to no avail.

there was a comment from 2013. I had the same problem in 2019, and it is still occurring, and no 'solution' is posted! Come on, folks!
