Thank you for the bug report. I couldn't repeat on Yosemite 10.102. The system preferences ask me for the administrator password and it is changed however I notice that there is a bug which the server even checked to automatic start doesn't works I need to press manually the start button.

Okay weird, I know a colleague had the same issue.

How I said you I can't repeat maybe is a permission issue on your side. Regarding the start issue on Yosemite see: https://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=74434. Thanks.

No idea how I can investigate this further? Log files?

I have the same problem too, on 10.10.2 (MySQL 5.6.23)

This used to work.
Then I installed a newer version of MySQL.
Perhaps the installer gets confused by elements of the previous installation?
[21 Mar 2015 19:52] Markus Hedlund
I did a clean install, so I don't think it's related to previous installations.

I've set up 2 Macbook Pro's running Yosemite and this has happened to both.

OSX 10.10.2
MySQL 5.6.23

This happened most recently today on a brand new MBP I opened up this morning. MySQL was one of the first things I installed (Chrome, XCode, Dropbox, then MySQL iirc).

Hi, I can confirm this too. How can we fix this manually while the issue is not solved?

Thanks,

Henrique

Has anyone found a work around or solution to this issue yet? I'm also having the same issue with the latest version of Mac OS and DMG file. Or maby someone know which mysql version should work with the automatic launch?

I found a solution for this issue, since the developers don't care. Here is a solution for people who find this issue very anoying, like me. Visit this website:

http://www.macminivault.com/mysql-yosemite/

You can install mysql and it generates alot of other files to make it startup automaticly.
You can install this using this command: bash <(curl -Ls http://git.io/eUx7rg)
In the terminal application, but I recommend reading a bit of the website first.
Damn Oracle and your bug non-criticals

I'm also seeing this bug on 10.10.4.
