Doing that and then open the Workbench it seems that server is running but Workbench says: Base Directory: C:\Users\Isma\AppData\Local\Temp\Office 2013\ I dont know why. But on MySQL notifier doesnt work, it says that mysql56 failed but at the same time works on Workbench

Thank you for the feedback. If I understand when you started from the command prompt the server is working, so which is failing is to start as service right?. Is the service as LocalSystem account if not..changing to LocalSystem account works?. Thanks.

Thanks for responding. Yes I think that too, but how do I change the service to Local Account? Another question, why does MySQL is on the Path ".../Temp/Office13/.." Instead of "Program Files(x86)/MySQL/MySQL Server 5.6/" ?? if I choosed the Path of "Program Files..." when I installed

Using Control Panel ->Local Services->MYSQL56->PROPERTIES->Log On: log on as: select the Local System Account. Regarding the path instead of Program Files I guess already there is a bug reported (but not fully sure about) need more info from you how you did the installation process (upgrade or fresh install, step by step). Thanks.

Okay I have done that but there is still something not working heres why: I put as a local system, but when I click on mysql notifier and then click on "start" it puts again: "MySQL56 failed the most recent status... MySQL56 was not found in windows services"... So then I tried to run the services by entering "Control panel -> Services -> MySQL56 and run" .. and it worked! also on MySQL notifier got updated an it says that MySQL is running. But then I made a test stopping the MySQL by using mysql notifier, and guess what? it didnt work.. it says again: "MySQL56 failed the most recent status... MySQL56 was not found in windows services" So if I run mysql from control panel -> services it will work but if i use mysql notifier it wont.

Okay. What's your opinion about using MySQL installer 5.5 instead of 5.6? Does MySQL workbench works for MySQL 5.5 or is there an "special" version for MySQL 5.5? ... Same question for MySQL notifier

I uninstalled again, so I could fix the wrong Path. I chosed for MySQL Server the installing Path: Program Files\MySQL\MySQL 5.6 Then I clicked next, and when it says:"execute" to run the server I ran it but it went wrong, so I fixed it by puting the service as a Local, and then I clicked execute and all was right. Finally I checked my path "Program Files\MySQL" and theres not a "MySQL Server 5.6" Directory so something is wrong

Thank you for the feedback. Could you please indicate exact package details which you are trying to use, is it "mysql-installer-community-5.6.23.0.msi" or mysql-installer-web-community-5.6.23.0.msi ? I assume that you have downloaded from http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/windows/installer/5.6.html Thanks, Umesh

I would like to answer your previous queries here: >>What's your opinion about using MySQL installer 5.5 instead of 5.6? I would recommend you to use 5.6 installer in case you want to install 5.6.23. >>Does MySQL workbench works for MySQL 5.5 or is there an "special" version for MySQL 5.5? ... Same question for MySQL notifier yes, MySQL Workbench fully supports MySQL Server versions 5.1 and above. It is also compatible with MySQL Server 5.0, but not every feature of 5.0 may be supported. It does not support MySQL Server versions 4.x. Please see - http://www.mysql.com/support/supportedplatforms/workbench.html For WB related FAQ - http://dev.mysql.com/doc/workbench/en/workbench-faq.html

Thanks for your feedback. Well I have tried both: mysql-installer-community-5.6.23.0.msi" and mysql-installer-web-community-5.6.23.0.msi, and It is still installed on: C:/Users/Isma/AppData/Local/Temp/Office 2013/... I checked on C:\ProgramData\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.6my_2015-02-24T18-55-28 on that files says: # Path to installation directory. All paths are usually resolved relative to this. # basedir="C:/Users/Isma/AppData/Local/Temp/Office 2013/" # Path to the database root datadir=C:/ProgramData/MySQL/MySQL Server 5.6/Data So I dont know whats going on

Hello Ismael Haro, Thank you for your feedback. I tried with latest version of MySQL 5.6.26 in Windows 8.1 and as well and it worked without any issues. Could you please list out exact steps you tried out at your end, this would help us to reproduce the issue at our end. Thanks, Chiranjeevi.
