Description:
Hi Vlad,

Would it be possible to change a bug back to "Open" when it has been put to "Won't fix"? At the moment the only options we can set once a bug has been set to "Won't fix" is "Won't fix" and "Close". It would be great to be able to set "Won't fix" bugs back to open if new information is added.

How to repeat:
Bug in question; http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=74481

(Or have it go to 'Open' again automatically when new info is added, just like the "Need Feedback" auto-change to 'Open' when comments are added)

Hi Roel,

This needs to be discussed with Omer.

Hi Roel,

Thanks for the suggestion.

Unlike bugs that 'need feedback' where a decision is pending, for the case of "Won't fix" a decision has been made. And while it is possible that new information can have the decision revised it is not the default case.

As such setting the status back to open when a new comment is added or giving users the option to set it to 'open' (that can happen based on opinion and not necessarily because there is new information) is likely to result in many more 'false negatives' than positives.

I think it is much simpler and 'cleaner' for the cases where there is new information such that the decision should be changed, to open a new bug on the issue.

Thanks

Hi Omer,

Your reasoning makes good sense. Thank you for taking the time to review and comment. Closing the issue!

Thank you!
