Certs files and tests:

  mysql-test/std_data/cacert.pem
  mysql-test/std_data/client-cert.pem
  mysql-test/std_data/client-key.pem
  mysql-test/std_data/server-cert.pem
  mysql-test/std_data/server-key.pem
  mysql-test/std_data/server8k-cert.pem
  mysql-test/std_data/server8k-key.pem
  mysql-test/r/ssl.result

will expire Jan 28 11:50:22 2015 GMT, after this date all SSL related tests
will fail.

How to repeat:
Adjust clock to later than Jan 28 11:50:22 2015 GMT and run SSL related MTR
tests.

Suggested fix:
Update certificates.

Seems to be fixed in 5.5.42 with the fix for Bug #18366947
It is also fixed in Percona Server 5.6.22-72.0

Noted in 5.5.42, 5.6.23, 5.7.6  changelogs.

The valid date range of the SSL certificates in mysql-test/std_data
has been extended to the year 2029.
