As I commented in the report that Shane linked to, I think we must all understand and accept that "MySQL Installer" and "Oracle lottery" are just synonyms.

Posted by developer: I've downloaded the installer and though the msi is labeled 5.6.22 the latest available 5.6 series server that comes within the catalog is 5.6.21. In that case, this was no bug and it was only a confusion due to the file names: http://bugs.mysql.com/file.php?id=22231&bug_id=75399 Probably the server 5.6.22 was promoted after the installer was released and that's why the manifest was not updated . Currently, this should not be a problem anymore as displayed in the following screenshot: http://bugs.mysql.com/file.php?id=23789&bug_id=75399
