Description:
There is version conflict when having Connector/net installed (via msi) and using the Nuget package.

The problem occurs when the version installed is different than the version that is used in the nuget package. This affects the behavior when creating a new EF model with the Visual Studio Designer.

How to repeat:
1 Install Connector/net
2. Install MySQL for Visual Studio plugin
3. Create a new application
4. Install MySQL .Net driver using nuget. (the version should be different than the one installed in the machine).
5. Create a new Data entity model.

Expected results.
  The model is created properly.

Actual results:
The dialog closes without creating the model just right after setting the connection.

Is there any work around for this? What is the root cause?

Hello Gabriela,

Thank you for the bug report and steps.
Verified this behavior on Visual Studio 2013 (C#.Net) and Connector/NET 6.9.5, 6.9.6, 6.9.7 versions.

Thanks,
Chiranjeevi.
