Description:
Nothing works after installation.

Double click icon, doesn't do anything. I can see the process firing up, but then it disappears.

I have full administrator rights and access to the machine.

Installation into default locations.

I've just now reinstalled 6.2.2 RC to try to recreate the bug I had before, and I've just got a new error message at the end of the installation process:

---------------------------
python.exe - System Error
---------------------------
The program can't start because MSVCR120.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

How to repeat:
Install 6.2.2 RC onto a Windows 8.1 64-bit.

Suggested fix:
Provide the missing MSVCR120.dll.

Hi Please install the MSVC 2013 runtime redistributables from MS: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784

I tried installing the 2013 redistributable package and it didn't worked so
I installed the 32bit version instead of 64bit version and all runs ok. No other solution worked for me. I hope this can help!

reproduced also with mysql-workbench-community-6.3.3-winx64.msi

If mysql workbench installer must rely on that MSVCR120.dll(which comes with visual c++ redistributable for vs2013), than workbench installer should install it on its own without give us the error of the missing dll.

When you install something you usually expect it works without taking care of its dependencies.

This is a bug to me, the current status shall be changed.

Moreover, the suggested fix "Provide the missing MSVCR120.dll." is not a fix at all, but a workaround instead.

Thanks Linked Helped me.
I also tried using 32 bit version of 6.3, 6.2 and 6.1 but once performance view is enabled it crashes all the time accessing it.

I faced similar issue on Windows 8 today.

Solution - Right click and click on Trouble Shoot compatibility. Go through the steps and the workbench opened. Second time the workbench opened without any issues.

Hope this helps
