The analysis step processes a random amount of data then stops. The message indicates it has been successful when it is clear that this is not the case. The problem occurs on a Windows 2003 Server machine being accessed via Citrix. On Windows 2000 and Windows XP machines there is no problem with the analysis step. Actually restoring hasn't worked but that is presumably due to MySQL server version issues not a bug. The analysis and restore worked on Linux (Mandrake 10.1) when I restore a MySQL 5.02 backup from a Unix machine to MySQL 5.02. The analyse part works when trying to import a MySQL 4.1 backup but the restore does not. The restore immediately reports that the restore has been successful but has not actually done anything. I hope this helps.
