Description:
I have no doubt that MySQL in wonderful from any point of view except interaction with other RDBMS and support compatibility with programming languages(EX: JAVA).
Database link connection is handy feature which i could not find in utilities that exist. i believe its a vital feature for MySQL to interact with other databases without developing UDF because it take time and administrator should care while database upgrades.
many situations exist that DBA needs to call Java (.Net,Python or ...)class from defined store procedure in MySQL and there is no way.
MySQL has only introduced UDF for these cases that is not very welcomed from my point of view and it has costs rather than SQL.

How to repeat:
This is a feature.

Suggested fix:
I know allocating such these features are expensive that may not be indicated in MySQL road map but other RDBMS such as Oracle and SQL Server have implemented these features that are so useful.
