Description:
try install 5.6.16 with installer, it doesn't tell you that 5.6.17 is current version.

How to repeat:
see http://wb.mysql.com/installer/products.xml

Suggested fix:
update http://wb.mysql.com/installer/products.xml

I experienced the same and though about reporting it!

I have a small notebook (actually a small Win8 tablet with an optional keyboard) where I had 5.6.16 installed with the MySQL Installer.

Running the (5.11.16) installer did not find the update. After downloading the 5.6.17 installer, 5.6.17 installed.

The 'MySQL notifier' should be affected as well. But though it is installed I don't have it running regularly.

Note that the system described above is another system than where I experienced this http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=72168 (this was reported on my Win7 'workhorse' machine).

I meant

Running the (5.6.16) installer did not find the update

.. obviously!

Okay, so this is a request to automate the updating of the product inventory so that it is always current with what is available on the downloads page.

http://wb.mysql.com/installer/products.xml doesn't show 5.6.20 yet, I still see 5.6.19.

Fixed as of the MySQL Installer 1.4 release, and here's the changelog entry:

A task can now be scheduled to automatically update the MySQL product
catalog.

Thank you for the bug report.

http://wb.mysql.com/installer/products.xml still shows 5.6.21 when 5.6.22 has been out for a long time.

The installer has installed 5.6.22 for me long time ago on one system (Win7). On another system (Win8.1) it is still behind (or was - I will check again).

The installer on the Win8 machine seems to be an outdated version. However, it never offered to upgrade itself and it finds MySQl 5.6.21 as the most recent. Thi smachine is around 9 months old.

The new Installer version on the Win7 machine has detected and installed 5.6.22 several weeks ago. This machine is around 6 months old.

Everything on both machines are Community versions 64 bit.

The "MySQL Installer" seems to be no less than *a lottery*! Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose! :-(

Same thing with 5.6.23, it's been out for 2 weeks and the catalog still shows 5.6.22 as the latest :-(

Experience the same.

My "MySQL Installer" version 1.4.2.0 does not see that 5.6.23 and 5.5.42 are out.

Does the Windows team listen to lullaby's all the time, since they seem to spend most of their time sleeping?
