Description:
When trying to install MySQL Installer 5.6.16 (64 bit), I get caught in a loop where I cannot get past Visual Studio Tools for Office 2010 Runtime (MySQL for Excel 1.2.0)
I repair, it does not fix it.
I uninstall and re-install it doesn't fix it.
I uninstall, and re-install from MS Website, and it doesn't fix it.
A bug?
Any workaround please?!
How to repeat:
On my computer (and I see others from the knowledgebase),
I run the MySQL installer.
In the check requirements part of the install, the Visual Studios for Office Runtime 2010 is unchecked.
I click execute, it asks to repair or uninstall.
First I repair.
I re-run the check requirements part of the install, the Visual Studios for Office Runtime 2010 is unchecked.
I install Visual Studios for Office Runtime 2010, and it goes through the process, but again returns with the Visual Studios for Office Runtime 2010 as unchecked.
Next I manually uninstall Visual Studios for Office Runtime 2010 from Programs in the Control Panel. I then download the Visual Studios Office Runtime 2010 from Microsoft and install.
I re-run the MySQL Install and get the same endless loop.
Next I manually uninstall Visual Studios for Office Runtime 2010 from Programs in the Control Panel. I then download the Visual Studios Office Runtime 2010 from Microsoft and install.
I then try and install the Service Pack (without success)
I re-run the MySQL Install and get the same endless loop.
Please fix.
Suggested fix:
Please ensure the program is pointing to the correct version/history of the Microsoft Visual Studios for Office Runtime.
