Description:
There are variables for the audit plugin, but no status items.

I would expect to have status for:
- number of events logged
- number of bytes logged

How to repeat:
SHOW GLOBAL STATUS LIKE '%audit%'. (with audit plugin loaded)

A bunch of status variables were added in 5.6.20: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/en/audit-log-status-variables.html
Looks like http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/en/audit-log-status-variables.html#statvar_Audit_log_e... and http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/en/audit-log-status-variables.html#statvar_Audit_log_t... are equivalents to what you've requested.
