Description:
Today with MySQL Installer 5.6.16, there is no way we can give proxy details to authenticate MySQL to download the required packages. There needs such a facility to be allowed in installer before actually the installer begins to download various packages selected.

How to repeat:
Download MySQL Installer 5.6.16
Install and using the wizard try to install the software where proxy is enabled.

Suggested fix:
Provide an option to configure proxy authentication

Over 3 years since bug submitted, still can't execute check for community updates behind a proxy with authentication.

21st December 2017... Do we have a resolution in sight for this? If you want to be taken seriously in the corporate arena you should address this.
