Manual page on setup_instruments, http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/en/performance-schema-instrument-naming.html, describes statement/abstract/* as something that was "always there", while in reality it's a new feature (incompatible change) in 5.6.15 (see http://dev.mysql.com/doc/relnotes/mysql/5.6/en/news-5-6-15.html).

How to repeat:
Note the following after reading manual:

mysql> select * from performance_schema.setup_instruments where name like 'statement/abstract%';
Empty set (0.00 sec)

mysql> select version();
| version()  |
| 5.6.14-log |
1 row in set (0.03 sec)

Then try to find out in the manual is it something wrong with setup or why these instruments are NOT present in 5.6.14 (4th minor GA release)?

Suggested fix:
Mention explicitly at http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/en/performance-schema-instrument-naming.html that statement/abstract/* are new instruments introduced in 5.6.15. Add a reference to the release notes that describe this change in details.

Hello Valeriy,

Thank you for the bug report.
Verified as described.

I'm not going to clutter http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/en/performance-schema-instrument-naming.html with the details about statement renaming. The version-specific details are at the end of http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/en/performance-schema-statement-tables.html, which is linked from the page in question.
