Description:
I used mysql-installer-community-5.6.15.0 to install all features (includes .net connector 6.7.4) and everything worked, after installing mysql-connector-net-6.8.3 unable to connect to the database.
When i try to add a connection under "server explorer" the windows closes (with no message) when i click in "Test Connection"

1) install all componnents in mysql-installer-community-5.6.15.0
2) install mysql-connector-net-6.8.3
3) open vs
4) navigate to server explore
5) click on add connection
6) enter db information
7) click on "Test connection"

Have you installed the MySql For Visual Studio 1.1?
(All VS integration was removed, Cnet 6.6.x was the last to included).

The GA will be available soon, meanwhile, you can install the the Beta, see here for the link: http://forums.mysql.com/read.php?174,601041,601041#msg-601041
