Description:
"Downgrading MySQL"
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/en/downgrading.html

is almost the same (minus the "enterprise -> community downgrade link" and some minor wording differences) as the 5.5 version

http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/downgrading.html

with a lot of 5.5->5.1 references.

Looks as if the section was never updated to actually cover downgrades down from 5.6 instead of 5.5 ...

How to repeat:
Compare content of

http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/en/downgrading.html

vs

http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/downgrading.html

Thank you for the report.

At the top of the page there is a link, named "2.11.2.1. Downgrading to MySQL 5.5" which describes how to downgrade to 5.5. Instructions on the page are general and can be used even for 5.6. I don't see anything wrong with it.

Ok, I've somehow mistaken that link for being just a section title on the page, not a link to a different page ...
