Description:
Just downloaded and installed Workbench (build 6.0.6.11184) using msi (with latest installer). On startup, only part of the home page is shown--not the normal three-panel selection view. The right panel--server administration including import/export--is totally missing. I was able to use both the SQL edit section and the ERD model section but there was no way to return to the home page. The Workbench log file shows no exceptions. I did try re-downloading and re-installing Workbench but the results were the same.

How to repeat:
Download and install MySQL Installer 5.6 {the mysql-installer-web-community file was chosen}.
Download and install MySQL 6.0.6 Workbench: Windows (x86, 32-bit), MSI Installer file
At last install step, check "run workbench" and press finish.
Screen appears but is not at home page.

Hi Robert,

Can you please provide screenshots demonstrating what you see? It's not entirely clear from your description - some of what you mention seems to be related to the revised look and feel of WB 6.0. For example, there is no "Server Administration" section on the home screen any longer - that functionality is accessed once you open a connection (under "Management"). Also, there should be a "home" icon in the top left corner (above the File menu item) to take you back to the home page.

Mystery solved and bug report withdrawn! Thanks guys for the guidance. My problem was the stark visual difference of the new home page and the different navigation procedures. Now that I see the new logical integration, I realize you've done what I always wished for: the management functions embedded into the SQL area, so no need to switch contexts to simply import/and export. Unfortunately, when I opened up the Workbench guide document, the first page displays the OLD three-panel home page and I neglected to scroll down a bit to see the new V6.0 display. Maybe that picture should appear in the Workbench 6.0 web announcement page to ease people like me into the new environment.
In any case, everything works nicely. Thanks again.
