Description:
I'm trying to import data from MySQL to Microsoft Excel (PowerPivot). However when I try to run a query I get the following error:

- ERROR [HY010] [MySQL][ODBC 5.2(a) Driver][mysqld-5.5.27]

when I validate the query and DB connection, both are successful. I'm not sure why I am getting this error when I execute the SQL statement.

I'm running windows 7- 64 bit operating system and am using Excel 2010. I downloaded the 64-bit ODBC driver (http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mirror.php?id=411736).

How to repeat:
- download driver
- create an OLEDB/ODBC connection
- when selecting how to import the data: "Write a query that will specify the data to import
- run the query

Unfortunately, I do not have all necessary details to proceed with the bug verification.
Can you please provide the following details:

 1. What is the version of MS Excel you are using?

Please give the step-by-step instructions, such as following

      - start Excel
      - click "Data" tab
      - click "From Other Sources" -> "From Microsoft Query"
      - choose the Data Source in the list
      .....

Thanks.
