Description:
Just installed MySQL 5.6.12 and MySQL Workbench for 5.2.47 Mac OS X 10.6.8.

In the Create New Server Instance Profile wizard, when I get to "Check MySQL configuration file" it says

Error: File /etc/my.cnf doesn't exist

How to repeat:
In MySQL Workbench for Mac, click New Server Instance.

Click Continue until you get to the Testing Host Machine Settings panel.

It will say

Error: File /etc/my.cnf doesn't exist

Thank you for the bug report. The MySQL Server installer doesn't create the /etc/my.cnf so the user needs to create it manually (/usr/local/mysql/support-files has a template which can be used to create it). Thanks.
