The documenation is not clear about:
- If ISAM logging is still supported
- If ISAM logging is deperecated

The documentation lacks:
- An complete example about the myisamlog utility
- Description for the log-isam variable
- Description on the myisamlog page about how to enable isam logging.

How to repeat:
Read docs.

Suggested fix:
Declare ISAM logging as obsolete and then remove this feature (including myisamlog utility).
If it still serves a purpose: Improve documentation.

The only related bug I could find is Bug #13739
But that bug doesn't have any real documentation attached.

There is a bit of information available:

This however doesn't completely fix this bug.

Very little-used program. Long term, it will be deprecated.
Therefore, closing this bug.

Shouldn't the options be marked as deprecated in the manual then?

I would love to see the utility and functionality removed in 5.7.

For 5.7.8:
- log-isam is still accepted by mysqld
- the documentation is still present
- myisamlog utility is still present
