This appears to relate to #66239 - tried workrounds described in that ticket but to no avail...

Members of dev team working on MAC OS X (10.8.2) report that opening the workbench model reveals only the EER diagram; the model overview tab is completely empty.

Thank you for the bug report. I could repeat on MacBook Pro Mountain Lion ( no repeatable on Windows 7 ).

Workaround: the overview is there, it's just scrolled down out of view. If you scroll up, you will get it back.

Fixed as of MySQL Workbench 6.0.7, and here's the changelog entry:

On Mac OS X, an empty the Model Overview tab was empty.
