Description:
I found it hard the default display options on the forums (http://forums.mysql.com/) are not:

Message list display options: All message in a topic, threaded

I believe this gives the look and feel of an "aged" 95' Website. I believe our forums should be refreshed and look more modern.

If I could suggest an example of a good QA forum I'll say http://stackoverflow.com/ is cool.

How to repeat:
go to http://forums.mysql.com/ without touching the preferences in http://forums.mysql.com/control.php?0

Then change the option Message list display options from Default to All message in a topic, threaded

Get back to http://forums.mysql.com/ and browse any message to see the readability has improved.

Thank you for the report.

This one looks like not a bug for me.

You have two choices: Default, or "All messages in a topic, threaded" and "One entry per topic". So switching between Default and "All messages in a topic, threaded" you actually switch between same option. Choose "One entry per topic" to see the difference.
