The current versions do not allow you to save the result of the visual explain. This feature will be interesting to share the execution plan between teams, customers. Mainly to assert the possible improvements of a query, the visual appeal is key

Suggested fix:
My suggestion for this case and implement a feature in "MySQL Workbench" able to save the visual explain in various image formats, even in formats capable of being opened by itself "MySQL Workbench" that would be possible by simply saves the "JSON "but impresindivel is the ability to save in formats" PNG "," JPG "image among other extensions. The Salva should be done through the "File" menu or via the "click" with the right button -> "Save Image to File"

Hello Mathias,

You must be able of do what you need on Workbench, if you run any query, just on top of the results you can click on the "Export recordset to an external file" button, you can choose one of the many formats available.

I checked - and this functionality is available in Workbench 6.1 (I am not sure which version it was added in).  There is a small button which allows you to save the visual explain as PNG.
