This is still a problem.

Do not close this ticket. I ran a comparison test today between the MySQL Workbench version 5.2.45 on Mac OS-X and version 5.2.47 CE on Windows-XP on my laptop's VM. The Windows version of Workbench 5.2.47 works just fine with 600+ variables whereas the Mac version freezes quite badly... having to force quit in order to recover control of the Workbench software. The same query was used to the same database for both tests above. I will see if I can locate a more recent Mac OS-X version and to try again. Thanks.

I have now installed the most recent 5.2.47 Workbench on Mac OS 10.8.3 Server and the problem still persists. I've even tried the query the same large table (>600 variables) using and updated MySQL server, Server version: 5.5.30 MySQL Community Server (GPL), and still the problem within the MySQL Browser persists. It is not easy to scroll across the variable. Although, if you keep the number of returned rows to a small number, it can be done... but it is painstakingly slow. One Windows XP all is fine and fast. Please fix as I'm having to run a VM under Mac OS 10.8.3 just for the MySQL Workbench. Thanks.
