It should be "See Section 5.5.4" (or 5.0.4 or 5.6.4). The links are actually OK (they open http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/server-system-variables.html and respective 5.0/5.6 pages).

But why should we use all these numbers? This is really section 5.1.4:

OK .. confused because a paragraph no. and a version no. is the same in this case.
