Description:
SQL queries successfully executed, but not displayed. I can open file, paste text, copy it or delete, but visually nothing changes. E.g. query text simply not visible.
When I close all editor tabs Workbench sometimes stops working at all (application crashes).
Important: Previous MySQL Workbench version is not affected.
Also there is rapidly blinking cursor in sql editor when moving mouse.

Same thing happens in Windows 8 to me. See my other previous comments on this and screenshot.

You *CAN* cut and paste from notepad and execute queries, so they're getting into the window, they're just not displaying.

Copying from Notepad works, but queries never display

Same thing happens to me on Windows 8 x64. Text is processed but it is invisible.

The exact same thing happened to me...no text being displayed in the query window...though it is there.

I just upgraded to windows 8 and this a fresh install of workbench.

Changing the "General" font under, Preferences, Appearance did the trick for me.

Hello Mark.

Thanks.

I would like to add feedback.
My text was not showing as well.

I changed the default font under Preferences -> Appereance for the location "Editor" from "Bitstream Vera Sans Mono" to "Tahoma" (size 11). I rebooted MySQL Workbench and the text became visible.

Are you using the zip or msi install?
[22 Jun 2013 10:03] Kristian Iversen
MSI install

Please try version 6.0.5, making sure that none of editor fonts in Editor -> Preferences -> Appearance is Bitstream Vera Sans Mono. If it is, change it to Consolas, Courier New or any fixed width font of your preference.
[7 Aug 2013 5:57] Kristian Iversen
Thank you.

In this new version both Bitstream Vera Sans Mono and other font types works in the editor.

I believe this bug can be closed.
