Description:
window to command line will not stay open...only flashes open and is gone!

How to repeat:
installed mysql and when I go to server 5.5 and to mysql command line client 5.5 I can see the window flash open and then close right away.

Most likely your MySQL server is not running. Check status of service MySQL in "Services" control panel.
