Had you tried to install on local disk or some network share?

I have the same problem. All of the other components install fine. I am installing on Local drive C and I am running on an HP.

After searching my reg file, I found HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall was set to \Hewlett-Packard\\ which is the directory/site the install was searching for. Changing that key to the correct install location solved the problem, but I do not know where the key came from or if it is some HP crap that came on the machine.

Please see [3 Sep 18:42] Mark James comment if that fix your issue too. Thanks.
