I think I miss some information. The Host Win7 is 64bit; the firewall in XP Mode is disabled already. I also did a quick test: When I reboot the host OS and restart the XP mode, I can start the SQL Editor. However, after I close the Workbench and restart it, the SQL editor does not show again. If I reboot the XP Mode VPC, it is still the same, until I reboot the host Win7.

Thanks I did noticed that bug before. However, in my case it was just about three seconds of time, from the pop up to show till the pop up to disappear, which is quite the same as the time when the connection IS established. At least it does not look like a "time out" for me.
