This is happening to me too. Workbench crashes when I try to start it. I checked the wb.log, but nothing is written there. This started to happen after a restart of my machine

I'm having the same problem with 5.2.40.8790. MySQL and MySQL WB have never been installed on this computer before.

I have removed all prerequisit modules and reinstalled them. The new installed Workbench worked without any problem. Therefore the bug report can be closed. Thanks for your support. Peter

Problem solved by re-installing prerequisit Modules and Workbench.
