Description:
Dear All:

I am using windows7 (64 bit). I downloaded workbench 5.2.40 32 bit for windows.
After I installed it, I got an error message says, "Paython.exe application error. This application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application."

 I uninstalled the workbench, then reinstalled it again, same error message showed again.

p.s. I searched online, it suggest the error caused by different version of OS b/w windows and workbench.

     Another cause could be virus (I don't think I have the virus on my system)

How to repeat:
go to mysql workbench download site, choose Wisconsin mirror.

install suggested software (MS Framework 4.0 + MS visual C++ x64 redistributiable 2010) I also have visual C++ x64 and x86 from 2008 installed

install it on Window7 (home edition 64 bit OS) under folder programs (x86)

after installation, the error message displayed.

I downloaded mysql-workbench-gpl-5.2.40-win32.msi for windows installation

This, "MS visual C++ x64 redistributiable 2010", is not what you need for Workbench. As it is 32-bit application, you need 32-bit redistributable package. Please, try to install it and check if it solves the problem.
