Description:
Server will not start.  The admin console shows Database Server Status as the database server instance in starting.  The system remains in this state.

How to repeat:
Start the server.  Stop the server.  Restart the server.

What exact server version, 5.x.y, local or remote, are you trying to start?

mySql server version 5.5 running local.

Are you sure that server actually started? Please, check its error log.
