There are several active bugs assigned to people that are no longer working for Oracle ...

How to repeat:
See the following saved search which shows active bugs (including feature requests), oldest first:

On the first page there are already at least 2 bugs that are assigned to ex-staff

Suggested fix:
Reassign or at least unassign ...

I've set bugs on the first page previously assigned to Jani and Dean to unassigned, but you are right. We should fix all cases like this.

P.S. It would be nice for people to process/handover bugs they have assigned before they quit...

... and now i'm getting update notification emails on this bug even though the only visible changes are in the "Updated by" field ... more or less telling me that "person xxx has added a private comment or changed a non-public setting" ...

Yes, a mail reporter gets email updates even if a private comment has been posted.
Omer, shall we change this?

Hi Vlad,

Its a bit tricky because developers subscribed to the bug want/and should get these notifications.

Is there a way to control who gets what? i.e. developers subscribed to the bug get all, non-developers only get public comments?
[27 Apr 2012 21:02] Vlad Safronov
Yes, that is possible. I will fix it so private comments notices are for dev. only.
