I've set bugs on the first page previously assigned to Jani and Dean to unassigned, but you are right. We should fix all cases like this. P.S. It would be nice for people to process/handover bugs they have assigned before they quit...

... and now i'm getting update notification emails on this bug even though the only visible changes are in the "Updated by" field ... more or less telling me that "person xxx has added a private comment or changed a non-public setting" ...

Yes, a mail reporter gets email updates even if a private comment has been posted. Omer, shall we change this?

Hi Vlad, Its a bit tricky because developers subscribed to the bug want/and should get these notifications. Is there a way to control who gets what? i.e. developers subscribed to the bug get all, non-developers only get public comments?

Yes, that is possible. I will fix it so private comments notices are for dev. only.
