What exact binaries do you use on 12.04? Last time I checked it was not supported officially.

Hi Valeriy,

I'm testing MySQL Workbench 5.2.39 for Ubuntu 11.04 32 bits (mysql-workbench-gpl-5.2.39-1ubu1104-i386.deb).

I know it is not built for Ubuntu 12.04, but it's the newest Wokbench stable release available for download.

It seems that the problem is in libmysqlclient16 lib. Ubuntu 12.04 misses it and has libmysqlclient18 instead.

You can just reinstall it using this guide

Igor,

I will wait for a newer release of MySQL Workbench (and I hope this issue will be already fixed).

I am experiencing this issue as of a couple of days ago! Workbench was working fine until (possibly due to some updates) doesn't work anymore.

I am using Ubuntu Studio 12.04 64bit on Win7 Virtualbox. I installed workbench from the standard repos. Not sure what to do, any help would be appreciated.

This has been fixed as of the soon-to-be-released Workbench 5.2.41, and
here's the changelog entry:

On Ubuntu 12.04, MySQL Workbench would not load.
