Indeed, http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/innodb-parameters.html#option_mysqld_innodb-status-... looks unusual.

This is a somewhat unusual option. It doesn't have a corresponding system variable. It is listed with dashes in its name intentionally, similar to ignore-builtin-innodb. There was an incorrect entry in the table under the "InnoDB Command Options" section, suggesting there was a variable with dashes in the name. I've removed that line entirely, since there is no such variable (with either dashes or underscores).
