Description:
If Zend Server (CE) is installed and active with its own MySQL Server (CE), the Installer does not initially detect it, but if you then "add" the MySQL which matches the Zend version, so MySQL Installer might keep track of it, Installer will then detect the Zend MySQL, plus it will without prompting remove the program files from Zend MySQL and setup a new MySQL install with a blank database. So Zend MySQL is no longer accessible.

A workaround is to reinstall just MySQL Server, making sure that the installer's program and data folders point to the former Zend MySQL install location, and Zend MySQL and your old database is accessible again.

How to repeat:
Run Installer, and add the MySQL Server that matches your Zend MySQL.

Suggested fix:
Update the existing MySQL install, even if in another location (like the Zend folder), or at least prompt for an action, like update or replace by making a new setup.

Unable to reproduce.
Require additional information about configuration of both products involved (Zend and MySQL).

How is Zend configured to have its own MySQL Server? The last version of Zend (CE) I downloaded doesn't seem to have a direct relationship to a MySQL server product.
