I was able to reproduce a similar crash (crashing at the same point) in a slightly different way: - click the [...] button in the new-connection dialog to browse for a keyfile (no browse-dialog is coming) - click into the textfield for entering the keye manually, start typing -> crash reproduced on my 10.7.1 machine

I have the same problem on OS X 10.7.2. Clicking the [...] button doesn't open the dialog box, and once I've done that then clicking OK or Cancel will cause workbench to crash. A workaround for those using an ssh key in the default location (~/.ssh/id_rsa) is simply to leave the password field blank and click OK. Workbench will prompt you for a password, and again leave it blank and click OK. When the password fails, Workbench will automatically try the default ssh key and connect successfully.

I forgot to add that I'm using the latest version of Workbench, 5.2.37.

Fixed as of 5.2.38: On Mac OS X 10.7+, the "Open File" panel would attempt to show hidden files, which would fail and cause no files to be shown. Workbench no longer attempts to display hidden files on Mac OS X.
