Description:
Hi ,
I have MySQL 4.1.6 server.
I use MyODBC 3.51.09 ODBC driver to connect to server. It is latest ODBC driver
that I found. When I try to connect to server I get error message:
"Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider
upgrading MySQL client"
How can I upgrade MySQL client to be able to connect to MySql server through ODBC?
Thank you,
Vladimir.

How to repeat:
1.Install following configuration MySQL 4.1.6 server, MyODBC 3.51.09 driver on the same or different computer.
2.Go to Windows ODBC Data source Administrator and define new connection to
MySQL server.
After filling all necessary parameters for the new connection Press Test Data Source button.
Error message "Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client" appears

The 3.51.09 isn't compiled for to works against 4.1.XX servers.

Thank you for the bug report.

Recent releases of C/ODBC 3.51 work just fine with MySQL Server 4.1 and later.
