Description:
Restoring databases from Workbench don´t work. Even after giving Workbench the right path to msyql.exe and mysqldump.exe. When you try to import from a file it hangs and you have to cancel it manually. If you do so you´ll get an error like:

Operation failed with exitcode 1

08:27:20 Aborted by User

Restored database(s) maybe in an inconsistent state

Excecuting this or a similiar command with the Powershell gives me out an error that the operand "<" is not yet supported. The only way to get it work is via the good old cmd shell. I hope that you can file this issue.

How to repeat:
Just try to restore a file on Windows Server 2008 via Workbench.

Suggested fix:
I think it could have something todo with the Powershell and "<".

I have tried (briefly) to run various mysql command lien client from Powershell. never had any success.

Probably you will get this classifed as 'not supported'. But MySQL/Oracle should take Powershell seriously.

Yes right, even because of you get very scary error message about inconsistent database. Do you think the restore problem is about the Powershell?

The file to be imported was created with which tool?. Are you able to provide it?. Thanks in advance.
[21 Jul 2011 6:46] Alternativ End
Sure, I have made it with this command and also out of the Workbench GUI itself.

mysqldump.exe --opt -h 127.0.0.1 -uroot -pmypassword -rc:\BACKUP\mysql\%date%_sv.sql sv

Hello.
Thanks a lot for your report.
Can you please provide the following:
- The Dump files that you are trying to restore.
- The output of: Help -> System Info

Hi,
with dump file you mean the SQL database? Im sorry but thats not possible because its a database with real data in it. Meanwhile I have solved the problem by restoring the same database on the CLI with Windows cmd.

Please try latest 5.2.35 if still is possible to make similar test. Thanks in advance.

It seems to work with the new version now. At least the backup works fine now. I have no chance to test the restore right now.

Thanks!

Please, inform us if restore also works, when you'll get a chance to test it in your environment.

Not repeatable with recent versions.
